Resident Paediatrician Dr Bopape Chinyanga
Congratulations on the imminent arrival of your little bundle of joy! We would like to assist by ensuring that your newborn baby is healthy before going home.
It is a requirement that all of our babies are examined post birth to be screened for certain conditions that can present in the newborn period as well as any congenital abnormalities such as critical congenital heart disease. In the event of a caesarian section, a paediatrician is required to be present at the time of the caesarian section to ensure baby’s safety.
Dr Bopape has been practising as a Doctor for over 16 years, and is specialised as a Paediatrician. She is an expert in her field and provides a compassionate and caring service that is focused on your child’s individual health care needs. She supports midwifery-led care and she herself, is a mother of three children, one of whom she birthed with a midwife at Genesis Maternity Clinic. Dr Bopape takes the time to answer your questions at the checks for your precious newborn. Her heartwarming nature is focused around an informed and patient centred approach, ensuring ongoing trust in her paediatric practice.
Dr Bopape will be available for daily rounds for all newborn babies born at Genesis Maternity Clinic, and has the full support of Locum Paediatricians who will be available after hours and weekends.
Please note that Medical Aid clients need to pay the Paediatrician a deposit of R3 700, the difference of which will be refunded if you have a natural birth. You will need to claim from your medical aid after the birth.
You will also be asked to sign the following attached form when you book at reception:
Newborn Examination after a natural birth: R2 200
Attendance of a Caesarean Section: R3700
Follow up consultations: R1200
Dr Bopape does not do baby immunizations.
