Genesis Antenatal Classes
The Antenatal Classes are comprised of 4 classes per course and covers the topics of labour and birth and what to expect after the birth as well as practical breastfeeding advice. The classes are relaxed, interactive and relevant to the fantastic care you will receive at Genesis Maternity Clinic. You must be in Week 30-32 of pregnancy to start the first antenatal class.
Antenatal care is an essential part of pregnancy and should start as soon as you find out you’re expecting. Having a healthy pregnancy is one of the best ways to promote a healthy birth. Attending antenatal classes will give you and your partner an opportunity to ask questions you don’t always remember at your regular pregnancy check-ups, and you’ll meet other expecting parents and make new friends.
Antenatal classes can also give partners an opportunity to understand the whole process of pregnancy, birth and early parenting. Many people find their confidence levels are increased after attending a course, which in itself makes both birth and parenting an easier prospect.
The Classes outline is as follows:
Week 1: Natural birth and pain relief
Week 2: Caesarean section and parenting
Week 3: Breastfeeding
